The boundaries of living in central Edmonton are a little unclear, although it is generally accepted that all of the neighbourhood communities encompassed by Yellowhead Trail to the North, 111 Avenue to the South, 121 Street to the West, and the LRT right of way to the East are all included in Central Edmonton.

Compared to other neighbourhoods of Edmonton, buyers touring the area will notice that central evident Edmonton has a relatively low population density despite the city undertaking several community rejuvenation initiatives. Even so, the population in the area is slowly rising as a result of Edmonton's booming economy, which has seen a number of new apartment and condominium properties in the area.
